"Actors are not made between lunch and dinner."
-- Richard Bolislavsky:
The First Six Lessons
Classes are intensive and my hands
on approach allows me to guide students through all the stages of
the technique. The goal of the Meisner Technique
is to get each and every student to work truthfully and instinctively
from themselves i.e. their own truthful point of view, i.e. to replace
thinking with doing. By maintaining small groups students get to
work several times during the course of the class in an environment
that
is supportive and conducive to learning. In providing this type of
atmosphere I am able to teach without taking the joy out of learning.
New Class Content
My Wednesday night scene study class
now includes cold reading/audtion technique. Students work
from scenes that they choose from network and cable series or scenes
that I provide for them. They can also bring in commercial copy
or an audition piece that they have been called in for. This will
give students the opportunity to work every week. If students feel
they have the time and would like to bring
in a finished scene that option is still open to them.

In Their Words:

"Alan
Gordon is by far the greatest of beings as a friend, teacher
and mentor in your study of Acting. He has brought out the
very truth in me and has shown me that "My greatness in
becoming a successful actor, is not about the final destination,
but the journey in reaching it." If you are serious about
being an actor Alan Gordon would be my NUMBER 1 Recommendation."
